Lakelse Lake Community Sewer Project

The RDKS continues to study potential options for community sewer on the west and east sides of Lakelse Lake, as discussed in the Liquid Waste Management Plan. Environmental studies were initiated to further scope the feasibility of LWMP options.  Initial studies include groundwater, surface water, terrestrial and archaeological, with some studies ongoing.  The RDKS will keep the public updated on study outcomes through project update mailouts, meetings, and information posted here.

Project Updates

Studies in 2011 included initial assessments for potential treatment plant location options and potential treated effluent discharge options, including to ground and to surface water.  Studies continue in early 2012 to scope the potential options and feasibility.  RDKS is anticipating having information on potential options available in spring 2012, at which time the information will be provided to the public and advisory groups.
