Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee (PMAC)

The Solid Waste Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee (PMAC)

PMAC assists with the implementation and administration of the Regional District's Solid Waste Management Plan and acts in an advisory role to the Regional District Board and staff on issues related to reduction and re-use, education, recycling and composting, landfilling strategies, costs of the Plan components and other matters as required.

The Plan area includes all member municipalities and rural areas of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine.

The Regional District Solid Waste Management Plan provides specific direction for the reduction and recovery of materials discarded by residents and businesses, as well as specific direction for the landfilling of materials that are not composted or recycled. Developed under the guidance of the Regional District Board and approved in 1995, this Plan is now being implemented.

The next regular meeting of PMAC is scheduled for March 7, 2018 from 10 am - Noon at the Regional District Board Room. See 2018 Meeting Schedule
