BOIL WATER NOTICE - THORNHILL WATER SYSTEM - Open Story for Updates

BOIL WATER ADVISORY

THORNHILL WATER SYSTEM

Due to the presence of coliform bacteria in multiple water samples, from multiple locations within the Thornhill Communtiy Water System,  Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS) advises the water supply in Lower Thornhill, Upper Thornhill, Queensway and Copper Mountain is suspect of contamination and may not be safe for human consumption.  A Boil Water Advisory has been issued and will remain in effect until further notice.

To ensure safety, all water must be boiled rapidly for at least one minute and then cooled prior to being used for drinking, brushing teeth or washing food. Boiling the water destroys all the potentially disease carrying pathogens.   Water is  considered potable after it has cooled.

The areas involved are: Lower Thornhill, Upper Thornhill, Queensway and Copper Mountain Subdivision
