Have you ever thought of serving your community as an electoral area director, mayor, councillor, or school board trustee? If so, now is the time to learn what it takes to become a candidate!
The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine , in partnership with the City of Terrace and Coast Mountain School District No. 82, is hosting a Candidate Information Session for anyone interested in running in the upcoming local government election.
The session will provide a plain-language overview of the election process, including:
- nomination requirements
- key dates
- required forms
- campaign basics
- what to expect during the election period
- what to expect while serving in office
Whether you are exploring the idea of running or have already decided to become a candidate, this session will help you understand the process and prepare for the election.
When: Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: RDKS Board Room, 1st Floor, 4545 Lazelle Ave., Terrace, BC
