The Board of the RDKS intends to establish a service in order to contribute to the on-going cost of operating the Heritage Park Museum, instead of the annual grant-in-aid used until now.

BC Wildfire Service has rescinded the Category 1 campfire prohibition in the Skeena and Bulkley Fire Zones.

BC Wildfire Service has announced that the Category 1 campfire prohibition has been lifted, effective August 11 at 12 p.m.

The Upper Skeena Recreation Centre's (USRC) Advisory Committee has developed a new Strategic Plan.

The new RDKS Strategic Plan was approved and adopted by the RDKS Board on March 24, 2023.

The Upper Skeena Recreation Centre's Park Development Plan is entering a new phase after last week's public open house. Those who attended saw conceptual designs for the redevelopment of the former Ken Trombley Arena site into outdoor community spaces.

Tipping fees are increasing in the Terrace Service Area as of January 2023. Tipping fees are raising in response to increased operating costs and to ensure an adequate reserve for landfill cell closures and future required cell expansions.

The Public Hearings originally scheduled for Jan. 4, 2023 to consider the RDKS Zoning Amendment Bylaws 776 & 777 have been rescheduled and will be held on separate days—Wednesday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 26.
