FAQs

Where does the compost come from?

Our compost is made at Forceman Ridge Waste Management Facility right in the RDKS. It's a product of our organics diversion program, and we could not have done this without help from our communities.

Thank you for keeping your organics out of the landfill, and for keeping contaminants out of your organics so we can produce Class A compost!

Has the composted been tested?
Yes! The compost has been tested and meets the provincial requirements to be classified as Class A compost.
What does 'pilot project' mean?
A pilot project is a test-run to see how a concept or plan works before committing a lot of resources to making it permanent.
What's the process to purchase compost?

Bring your vehicle to the Thornhill Transfer Station, along with whatever containers you need to transport the compost.

Look for the compost area and drive up...

A reminder that only debit and credit are accepted for payment.

How much is a quarter cubic metre?

Great question! Many people won't require a full cubic metre of compost, so a quarter of that is the base measurement for our compost sales.
