BC Wildfire Service's fire suppression efforts, along with rain and cooler weather conditions, have resulted in fire growth slowing significantly.
BC Wildfire Service continues to utilize a significant number of resources at the Coyote Creek wildfire. Multiple firefighters, along with aviation, heavy equipment, and structure protection resources, have been working consistently to successfully suppress growth.
The Evacuation Alert is still in effect; no Evacuation Order has been issued at this time.

The Coyote Creek wildfire continues to be a threat, however, with cooler weather conditions and fire suppression efforts, fire growth is expected to remain manageable.
BC Wildfire Service has deployed a significant number of resources to the Coyote Creek wildfire. Multiple firefighters, along with aviation, heavy equipment, and structure protection resources, have been working consistently to suppress growth.
The Evacuation Alert is still in effect; no Evacuation Order has been issued at this time.

Due to the potential danger that may arise from the Coyote Creek wildfire, the RDKS and Gitwangak First Nation have issued an Evacuation Alert for:
The community of Cedarvale, as shown on the map below
A wildfire is burning adjacent to Highway 16, approximately 23 km southwest of Kitwanga at the Highway 37 junction and 68 km northeast of Terrace. Action is being taken to limit the spread of the fire.

If you are in the alert area:
- Wait for an Evacuation Order before evacuating.
- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be issued while separated.
- Consider creating a profile with Emergency Support Services for evacuee assistance in case of an Evacuation Order. Online at ess.gov.bc.ca or by calling 1-800-387-4258.
- Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents for quick departure.
