Kitsumkalum River

HAZARD NOTICE

September 25, 2024

A joint Hazard Notice has been issued by the Kitsumkalum Band and the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine due to the BC River Forecast Centre’s Flood Watch Advisory issued on 24 September 2024 at 1415h.

This Hazard Notice is in effect for all persons near the Kitsumkalum River, including its tributaries.

A Flood Watch Advisory means that river levels are rising and will approach or exceed bankfull. Flooding of areas adjacent to affected rivers may occur.

People in the area are advised to exercise caution and be prepared for changing conditions.

FLOOD WATCH - KITIMAT RIVER

A Hazard Notice has been issued by the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine due to the River Forecast Centre’s Flood Watch Advisory issued on 23 September 2024 at 1345h.

This Hazard Notice is in effect for all persons near the Kitimat River, including its tributaries

A Flood Watch Advisory means that river levels are rising and will approach or exceed bankfull. Flooding of areas adjacent to affected rivers may occur.

People in the area are advised due to the risk of flooding along the Kitimat River, including its tributaries, that they should not be recreating in the area.
